Description
These bookmarks help students think deeply about power and justice (among other concepts) in texts. Five unique bookmarks extend your students’ thinking in different ways to help them really dig deeper and ‘see’ more than just the obvious. You will enjoy seeing students using advanced inferencing skills and witnessing their ‘Aha!’ moments. While I provide these bookmarks for all my students – and they all reach new levels of insight – my advanced readers particularly appreciate them because of how much more meaning they can from a text.
Use these as handy discussion prompts for books, podcasts, images, film – the possibilities are only limited by the texts you have access to. These are fully editable, so you can adjust them to the needs of your students – after all, you know them best.
These bookmarks are provided through Google Apps and can also be downloaded for editing on PowerPoint or other presentation programs.
If you are looking for more ideas to develop your students’ critical literacy, you can check out the Critical Literacy section of my store, or read the accompanying blog post here.

Tried and Tested
I am used to teaching mixed-ability classes with EAL students and all my students can rise to this challenge, from those who are below to those who are above grade level. I only list materials that have been successful and I always collect feedback from my students to ensure high engagement and rigour.
