Description
Introduce Greek mythology with this FUN activity for tweens & teens. This is a physical lesson I use at the start of my mythology / Ancient Greece unit to engage the class and get them excited about studying Greek mythology. Students absolutely LOVE this lesson, so don’t be surprised if they ask to repeat it (which is a great way to celebrate the end of your unit too!) Use it within your class, or create teams to manage the events and open it up to the wider community – an absolute blast! See the reviews below.
The download contains a zipped file with PPTX and PDF files plus a link to make a copy of the Google Slides version. Need something else? Drop me a note and let me see how I can support you in bringing this unique experience to your students.
These materials can be used in mixed ability classes; I have used it with such groups including EAL and SEN learners, but much of it is open-ended meaning it is fun and engaging for all. Even older learners lose their self-consciousness in the spirit of the friendly competitive fun. It’s a real hoot!
Please note that these are physical activities and – as such – take a little prep (which I normally do with the PE department). If you’ve any questions at all on how to adapt to your context, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to provide even more creative ideas.
