Description
Looking for resources to support your EAL learners in their study of the Middle Ages? Look no further! These resources have been tried-and-tested with a (very) mixed-ability class with great success. You can use the activities as alternative tasks in the mainstream classroom, or use as-is in the sheltered EAL classroom.
I searched far and wide for materials I could use that weren’t ‘cutesy’ as I teach 6th and 7th grade. As such, the images and fonts are more suited to tweens / teens, though there’s no reason they wouldn’t appeal to younger learners – they got approval from my 9-year-old too!
Included in the pack:
- ARTICLE (reading & listening skills)
- ARTICLE ILLUSTRATION PROJECT (reading and discussion skills)
- DISCUSSION TASK CARDS (speaking & listening)
- TABOO / BACK-TO-THE-BOARD GAME (vocabulary & speaking)
- QUICK WRITE PROMPT (writing)
- LINKS to additional (mostly) free resources
- EXTENSIVE TEACHING NOTES explaining how to use all the materials
- My ongoing support!
